Happy Halloween!
Tonight was a fun night. it is always a challenge to trick or treat on a Monday night. Mimi came through as usual with another unique costume. Harry Potter (third year in a row), Miss Twister, and the very fitting "Flash".

Bennett's Firsts
Bennett likes kindergarten, I think?!?! On the first full day when he got home he said, "Mommy I cried for you today." I asked him what his teacher did and he replied "she sent me to the office to take the notes so I could see you". I was so proud! I am not sure anyone has ever cried for me. It did help the fact that we have no more babies at home. When I asked his teacher about it she said "yes, I wasn't going to tell you". Later she told me that she rocked him!!!
Another first for Bennett and for Todd & I is baseball. Bennett is playing baseball and he mostly loves to bat but he is a natural. He is the grasshoppers. On his first game Halle had a sleepover and all five girls escorted him to the dugout. Reed commented that it was always going to be that way for Bennett! (a little jealous I think). Todd and I are both coaching him. It is lots of fun!

FIrst Day of School
Today was the last "First Day" of kindergarten. Yes it is sad but true Bennett's first day of kindergarten. For me I was glad to see him except I hear that he cried in two places, once at Mrs. Kathy's and once at Station Camp. Evidently he wiped a few tears away and gave daddy a big hug. Well if his plan was to make him feel bad, it worked! Tonight he got a big cookie bouquet, Demos' spaghetti and a cherry limeade for dinner. For Mom it was good. I got to go over a and sit with him while he ate, I hope this will be the first of many lunches together.
Water Day at Kyle & Sara's House
Water Day!!Well the much anticipated event was nearly a bust! All were gloomy when the morning began with buckets of rain coming down. All thought that the most anticipated event of the summer was over, especially Todd. I haven't seen Todd that upset since the Vols lost to North Carolina. Not a day we can easily forget. Everyone had a blast! Bennett so much he had to take a short nap an regroup. Robbie & Emily were able to join in the fun. At the conclusion of the day, there was an obstacle course and the top four got to compete in the finals. Well to say the least, youth prevailed. The top were Robbie, Reed and Will. Will received the best time however he did not deserve it. I think the time keeper was on his side.

We're Back at the Beach
Well we arrived at the beach last night around 12:30. We didn't get to stay at our regular condo but we are just happy to be back at the beach with Reed feeling good. The day was beautiful and I have never seen prettier water in Orange Beach. It was clear and beautiful and to top that Bennett spent a little time sleeping on me in the float, perhaps that is why he is so tan. Reed is so jealous, I am not sure why but being tan seems to be a little more important these days. We have already been to the Wharf for dinner and played a round of Putt putt. Todd is still undefeated!!! Well just when we couldn't believe that Bennett would like any more sport, today he wanted to play volleyball and tennis. So like a good mother, I headed over to get a ball. The Wimers were here today, and are headed out in the morning but the kids enjoyed having friends to play with.

We are on the Road to Recovery!
I wanted to finish the beach/tooth story so here is the conclusion so far. Finally on Thursday after the swelling continued to increase, we decided that we needed to head home. We packed quickly and headed out that morning, not before we stopped at Pirate's Cove for a round of putt putt. Poor Reed he was determined. It was sunny and 95 degrees, this was not the day he was going to finally beat his father.

The Tooth Saga Continues...
Well let me update you on the continuing tooth saga. We spent the morning yesterday driving a couple of towns over to see an endodontist (there are only three in the area). There we got confirmation that Reed does in fact have an abscessed tooth: however, they were unable to offer him any relief due to the fact that the infection has yet to break up or "soften". His suggestion was to go to a walk in clinic to get a shot of antibiotics so that it would start working faster. This would be the third antibiotic in three days. On the bright side Reed was able to take some pain medicine which had made him a little happier. The rest of us are having as much fun as we can without Reed. The weather has been beautiful and the water is the best it has been in years.

The Beach
Well things started off exciting as we headed to the beach. As we were pulling out of the driveway we received a call from my Dr. letting us know that when we got home I would need to see a surgeon so that I could have my gallbladder taken out. Sounds fun for your only free week off at home for the summer. I guess I will rest after all. Next we went to the beach early and enjoyed a few bonus hours on the beach. Boy was it good to be back in Orange Beach! Sunday night Reed's face began to swell as his tooth was hurting. We then called the dentist who gave him antibiotics for an assumed abscessed tooth. Monday Reed had a 103 fever and was attempting to throw up; however, he had no success with that. Our next step after consulting both our pediatrician and our dentist was a trip to the ER. As of this morning Reed is feeling better he has a 101 fever. But on the bright side, the weather has been great and the waves have been awesome! We will keep you posted!

The Healer!
Hello to our one follower! Reed again. This past Friday night my siblings, Scotlen and me all spent the night. While the other kids were playing around, I resided on the couch. Why? you may ask. We are not for sure what the technical term is, but I have done something to my knee. But not to worry, it is loads better now. This is a result of Mimi taking great care of me waiting on me wonderfully. It even made me feel slightly guilty. Rest assured, Friday night I couldn't walk; Saturday I was swimming with Bennett. Mimi can heal, people. Also, Hots and I watched a college world series game. It was great! Thank you guys!

A Magical Day
Hello people, Reed here. Today brought up the conclusions to Bennett's basketball camp and my basketball camp. Today, I met John Jenkins and saw a video showing him in his games. Whenever he would make a great play against Bruce Pearl's ''wonderful'' Vols, I was constantly reminding myself, and which team won that game again? But other than playing for Vanderbilt, he is a good guy and a heck of a ball player. It was pretty cool getting to meet him. Did you know he works out 4 times a day? Anyway, Bennett has recently been getting into the Harry Potter spirit ( finally) and wanting a wand like mine. Well he got more than that. Mom and I purchased a wand that when waved, is illuminated! Lucky little thing. You can guess who'll be saving up their money now. I played with the awesome thing before reluctantly giving it up. His eyes were so big I thought they would burst. I was so happy that he is wanting to know about Harry Potter. Today was clearly a very magical day.

Catching Up with the Kids
Since we are new bloggers, we thought that we better catch you up on what the kids are doing. Reed just recently made the Station Camp Middle School basketball team, Go Bisons! Bennett is going to a basketball camp this week but right now is extremely fired up about playing baseball for the first time (so is Mom). We might even do a little coaching this fall. Halle also attended a Bison basketball camp mostly to make her basketball loving family happy. Halle is also taking Hip Hop dance, and plays soccer something that she loves.
Our First Day!
Today we decided that it was time that we started a blog because we have sooo many people that want to follow us. Well actually maybe only a couple. The most important thing in our life is that we are going to the beach. Only 9 days till departure. Reed has been counting down thanks to the use of a good old fashioned toy, a light bright! Halle is also getting in the spirit with her numeric designs on the chalk board door. We will be going to Orange Beach with Mimi & Hots. We haven't been there in two years due to the wonderful "oil spill."
